I love to go treasure hunting (read: garage sale-ing) and paint my treasures to give them new life. This is a great post by TwiceLovely on how to do it! There are endless possibilities, and with just a little planning and elbow grease you can create beautiful custom furniture from ugly cast offs. I am always amazed at the power of paint.
